The month of December this year has been nothing but a joyous month full of celebrations. With the Christmas spirit hovering in the air, Melatone hit yet another milestone. After months of preparations and hard work, we finally opened our first official Melatone Showroom! Open to the public; it situates along the buzzing streets of Apgujeong, Gangnam.
In our shiny new lamination showroom, we filled every corner with quirky decorations and installations. We also showcased an array of custom furniture proudly designed by our designers. They are also made entirely out of our very own laminates. Read on as we take you for a walk through our new Showroom and the grand opening.

The Crepe Cake House
Whenever visitors grace through our quirky revolving doors, they will be greeted immediately by a large installation (or by one of our Melatone staffs!). It is an artistic structure, made entirely out of our very own products. This objet d’art incorporates our materials with machinery, making it an eye-catching centrepiece.
The Crepe cake House is one of the biggest highlights of the showroom. Mesmerising is it’s shuffling pieces, made out of double-sided laminates. Bringing out the cosy ambience are the warm cherry wood laminates in the ceilings and walls. We applied the same decor to the installations and even some of our custom furniture to match.
Melatone custom-made furniture
As you walk on further, you will finally meet our much-raved exquisite custom furniture. The desks and stools, benches and long tables are made entirely out of Clean Touch and solid coloured HPLs. Clean Touch surfaces are perfectly ideal for applications areas of high traffic as it contains higher durability than the average laminate (which already possess high resistances on its own).
Exterior grade laminates
We have a mini outdoor exhibit as well, displaying stools made out of our exterior grade laminates. They were placed outdoors to flaunt its durability. We don’t just talk the talk; we walk them too. These solid laminates are ideal for heavy-duty applications. They are thick, high-performance materials that are built to resist weather. Perfect for general use in exterior applications. They are also suitable for applications involving medium to long-term exposure of sunlight and weathering.

Theme: Cordial Futurist
The theme for the second storey of our showroom is designed a little differently than the first. A futuristic take sweeps of the first storey as you take each step to it. It is a library that holds some of our best samples and collections — propped atop our custom sliding shelves, built for your interaction and convenience. The Melatone Showroom was designed to improve your consumer experience. We want to increase your interactions with us and our products, so that we may guide and answer your questions in person.
The Grand Opening 2018
Just as the sun sets, guests buzzed in, and the Grand Opening commenced. It lasted for two days with many distinguished guests and designers popping by for a look. There were many curious passersby as well. The night was one to remember as we had people from all walks of life coming together to learn all about laminates. Many hospitable Melatone staffs were around too, always on their toes, ready to assist and share with you more.
We feasted & feasted
We feasted for two whole evenings and had grand spreads. Everybody had their tummies filled with sumptuous bites, and finger foods washed down with cocktails and punches. It was bustling nights, but the crowds were incredible.
Introduction & Sharing Session to Melatone Laminates
While the guests munched away, we held presentations to introduce, share and better-inform everyone about us. We also touched a little on interior trends. Our special guests from Feron also shared about the current material and surfacing trends in Europe. The presentations kept everyone updated about laminates, and it’s durabilities. The sharing session opened up new horizons and possibilities for our guests.
It was a very enriching night overall. We ate, and we drank and mingled and exchanged with one another. We learnt things that we didn’t know and shared with others what we do. Everyone left that night with something to take away, whether it was information or gifts.
Throughout the night everyone was very attentive. The guests also fired many intelligent questions, cultivating further discussions and discoveries. We were more than glad and thankful that everyone turned up and had a good time.
That night, our President Mr Sung was a very pleased man. He grinned from ear to ear throughout the event. It has been quite a significant milestone for Melatone as we came a long way (40 years). Though it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, we pulled through. We are ever so glad and thankful to everyone for turning up during the two-day event.
